School will open in a week and student life will be back in the daily routine of waking up early, taking showers, eating breakfast and walking to school, for some taking the jeep or car to their schools. Children will be busy with homework and projects and on weekend would be on catching up with play and meet up with friends.
Though it is sad to say that not all children goes to school ... some children with disabilities do not or cannot go to school. Some of them never set foot in school, while others didn't manage to continue. The AEPPI team knows about this and wishes that someday all children with disabilities will experience to be in school or be in a group learning, socializing and playing to give them something to look forward to day in and day out.
To bridge the gap (for now) two chapter members had the initiative to do summer activities for their members. The Barangay San Vicente chapter held for the 2nd year their annual Summer Art Camp while Barangay Estrella chapter held their first.

Barangay contributions were provided for both of the activities, together with support from friends and partners in kind, food items and toys. The mother organization - AEPPI supported Barangay Estrella with additional school materials and items to give away to the children which can be used at home and for some when they go back to school this year. The same for the children of San Vicente, they were given bags with school supplies that they can use to go to school.

Until the next summer, we hope that all the other Barangay affiliated to the AEPPI will create opportunities for the children with disabilities living in their barangay to get together, learn, socialize and have fun so that summer can be associated with colors, fun and learning for all!
We hope too that you will continue to support the works of AEPPI and it's chapter members in providing support and opportunities for every persons with disabilities in the City of San Pedro and beyond.
